Moonbeams and Polka Dots

My guild has a challenge call Moonbeams and Polka Dots,  the inspiration came from the song sung by Frank Sinatra with the same title.  I've had the material for a year and the quilts are due at this this month's meeting, so I decided that that I'd better get going.  Here is the finished quilt.

We were given four fabrics, the floral, polka dots, polka dot gray and the pink solid. I added the solid gray. I used the Strips' N Curves templates (basic set) from Quilt Escapes.
I've  had these templates for a few years and was always afraid to use them. I decided to bite the bullet and give them a whirl.  I'm pleased with the results and  now will eventually tackle the quilt I originally planned to use them  for...or let's just say it's on the list, I have a few things I need to finish first, Dr. Seuss for one.
Well spring break is over for me and it's back to work tomorrow.
Hope you all had a peaceful Easter.

Hands All Around Quilt Show

On Sunday my sister and our friend Annette drove up to Amherst to the Hands All Around Quilt show. On display was the Alzheimer's quilt show, this was a profoundly sad but beautiful tribute for the victims and families who suffer from this disease. If you get a chance to see it please do.  Unfortunately I didn't get any pictures they asked you not to take flash pictures and some how it just didn't seem appropriate.

I did take pictures of the Hands Around Quilt Show

This quilt was beautiful look at the house, the siding is made by folding fabric.

A mourning quilt

This quilt was made from a Kimono
